Betty and Veronica through a feminist lens.
do you think Betty and Ronnie are good female role models, or do you think they perpetuate negative gender stereotypes? please share your opinions, it’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately?
When the lovely Archie themed blog, Poptates, posed this question to the Archie blogging community, I thought it was about time I write this piece. I’ve been musing over this question for quite some time, but especially since starting [Alt] Archie two years ago. 
I am not only going to critique them as feminist role models, but I am going to give evidence to a radical theory: Betty and Veronica’s relationship with Archie is not about Archie at all. It’s about the nature of their own friendship.
Archie would rather be gay than date Betty. She’s insane, can’t blame him.
Archie Comics pushes the envelope again. I was skeptical about all these changes at first, but I’m really excited for them! As long as they weren’t going to be ridiculous, unreal and over the top I was cool with it. I guess this proves Archie Comics can do no wrong.
