Veronica Lodge spotted on a record. Obviously, I will be purchasing this. The artist is Batman animator/artist Bruce Timm, as noticed by Violet Impudence.
do you think Betty and Ronnie are good female role models, or do you think they perpetuate negative gender stereotypes? please share your opinions, it’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately?
When the lovely Archie themed blog, Poptates, posed this question to the Archie blogging community, I thought it was about time I write this piece. I’ve been musing over this question for quite some time, but especially since starting [Alt] Archie two years ago.
I am not only going to critique them as feminist role models, but I am going to give evidence to a radical theory: Betty and Veronica’s relationship with Archie is not about Archie at all. It’s about the nature of their own friendship.
We only have one board so far, but we’re planning for more. For now, check out I wanna dress like Veronica Lodge.
We’re still experimenting with Pinterest, so let us know if you have any good ideas for boards, or general tricks of the trade.
Today Archie Comics announced a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics to create a Betty and Veronica themed line of make up. The new line is called “MAC Archie’s Girls,” which personally leaves me with a bad taste. It seems to me that Betty and Veronica are currently being explored as three dimensional characters, and continuing to refer to them as “Archie’s Girls” is antiquated and counter intuitive. That’s just because I’m a super picky über fan though, and I am actually super excited to be wearing this every day of my life.
